“We’ve designed a life-style that gives us time and space to be creative
– we invite you to come and share some of this with us.”

Jean Louis Diaz-about

Hi I’m Jean-Louis,

I was born in France but I’ve lived many years in Australia.

I now live in Provence and pursue my art endeavours.

One of my aims is to pass-on what I’ve learned to others. As a long-time art-educator, I have the skills to help you build on your knowledge, to confidently pursue your art practice and so enjoy it more.

I’m fluent in both French and English, as well as knowledgable in many forms of art media. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art (painting and print-making), as well as a teaching degree, plus loads of experience. I’ve taught in schools and private classes for over thirty years and had several successful solo and shared exhibitions. Currently I exhibit in my atelier in Jouques.

Check out the Gallery page to see some of my work.

Bonjour I’m Fiona,

I’m from Perth, Western Australia, but am presently having the time of my life living here in Provence!

After a career as a Graphic Designer, I am finally getting back to making things with my hands, embracing a slower way of life and living more creatively.

I love working with textiles, improving my culinary knowledge and skills, learning about French culture, drawing and taking photographs, and of course working to improve my French!

I’m also passionate about hosting travellers in our beautiful home in this lovely village close to Aix-en-Provence.

You can view some of my photos on the Gallery page – you might also like to subscribe to our Newsletter – find the sign-up form on the bottom of the HOME page. By subscribing you will receive the occasional Blog post to follow the story of how we made our dream to live in Provence come true, as well as recieve monthly Newsletters.

"You'll love our village too"

We chose Jouques because it is a genuine, living village, situated in the heart of Provence.
People live here all year round, so it is vibrant and a true reflection of French life and culture.
It has beauty and character with a good dash of history thrown-in!
Within a radius of 60 minutes drive-time there’s an enormous variety of things to see and do.
There is everything we need here – even drinking water flows from the fountains 24/7!
Plus the surrounding forest has many easy to access walking and cycling trails.

Please see our ACCOMMODATION page for information on staying with us.
